Healthcare

The need for improved medical services for the village is fully understood and agreed.

In fact, Horsham District Council spent some £600,000 of our money buying the former Mill Stream Surgery building. Now unused for over 2 years, why  is the Mill Stream site – with its central location, existing parking and building – not a viable option for expansion, relocation or extension of Glebe Surgery?

We believe Storrington needs long term healthcare planning – not a ‘quick fix’ via a land-grab housing development with the offer of a new (privately-owned) health centre as a sweetener.

Access via Tesco roundabout rules out the long-term viability of Glebe Surgery’s existing (and proposed future) site.

And, if Millstream is not possible (either as an extension or a competitor to Glebe Surgery?), then surely it would be best to locate new facilities in line with the future expansion and transport access requirements of the village’s population?

Let us know how Storrington should be planning for future healthcare – not just for next 5 years but the next 20+ years!
